Vidsense Urges Social Network Giants to Step Up for Non-Profits

Vidsense, the Web's largest video ad network, today announced the "Good Works Better Alliance," an innovative fund-raising initiative designed to put social networks to work on behalf of non-profits and NFPs.

The same proven performance model ( http://ads.vidsense.com/r/212/l/qg72s1) that generates significant revenues for Vidsense network publishers will leverage the enormous traffic of leading social networks and generate hundreds of thousands of dollars for worthy non-profit and NFP causes.

"Social networking giants Facebook, MySpace and Twitter are in a unique position to do good on a scale never imagined," says Vidsense CEO Jaffer Ali. "And we have devised a turnkey plan to leverage their traffic on behalf of non-profits and NFPs the world over."

The concept is simple: Social networks will offer thumbnail access to popular, family-friendly television and movie clips on member pages. Every video view will generate revenue for one or more worthy causes as designated by the social network. Best of all, there is no cost to either participating social network sites or members. Vidsense underwrites the entire process as part of a complete turnkey package.

The mechanics are equally simple: Each time a thumbnail video link is clicked, a new browser window opens to play the requested clip, after which the viewer closes the window and returns to the site that launched it. The Vidsense video library offers more than 80,000 licensed, family-friendly clips, everything from classic movies and TV to popular culture.

"We already have 20,000+ websites in our publisher network," says Ali, "but it's hard to imagine a better use of a social network's strength-in-numbers than in helping worthy organizations that epitomize the spirit and intent of social networking."

"Vidsense is proposing a simple way to generate literally millions of dollars for worthy causes without anyone taking out their check book or credit card," says Ali. "The Good Works Better Alliance concept is not only painless, it feels really good. We welcome the chance to put our money where our mouth is and we challenge our online colleagues at the social networks to join us, because Good Works Better."
